When we talk to clients about weddings we find that one of the the most talked about parts of a wedding reception they’ve attended is the evening’s entertainment. We also find that there are a few questions that crop up repeatedly.
- Will you play music to suit the guests?
- Will the music be too loud?
- Will you play requests?
We always play music that suits the age range of your wedding guests. For most weddings this is covers a wide range from young kids who love to dance around to poppy chart music, people who want dance tracks from 80s to current charts right the way up to people you’ve not seen for years who want to hear 60s and 70s music. We watch the guests who are already dancing and at the same time keep an eye on the guests who are still seated to see what gets their feet tapping.
We firmly believe that music doesn’t have to be super-loud at every venue. At a typical wedding you’ll have guests who haven’t seen each other for years and want to chat and catch up and you don’t want those guests to spend all evening trying to shout across a table. We always watch your guests and play at a level where they are comfortable while seated and happy dancing.
We are always happy to play requests, although we do take great care to play songs that are appropriate for the audience. For example, if your guests span a wide age range we’ll always play radio friendly versions of songs rather than club versions which might have inappropriate lyrics.
We usually play background music for the first part of the evening to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the arrival of your guests. What happens after that depends on how you want your evening to go. Some receptions go right into the dancing early in the night following the traditional “first dance”, others wait until after a buffet has been served before beginning the dancing. We will fit in with whatever you have planned to ensure that the evening goes smoothly.
We are always neat and tidy as we know that a lot of the pictures taken at your wedding will have our disco in the background. We use a relatively compact but powerful sound and lighting system and we don’t leave cables trailing across the floor or dangling from speakers. All our equipment is certified safe and fully insured and we carry full liability insurance.
“Just a little thanks for the wonderful job you did at our wedding. Everyone commented about the fab swing music and how pleasant it was to have a disco where you could still talk to each other while it was going. The fixed soft lighting you got specially for us was brilliant too. Thank you again.”
“Skyline disco did a great job for our wedding. From first contact nothing was too much trouble and the evening went without a hitch. A lot of our friends said how nice it was to have a DJ who not only had all the songs they requested but played them as well.”
